Europeans for Investment in Cambodia!
At the head of these scam farms are Chinese and Cambodian individuals. Gang members deceive hundreds of Turkish citizens by offering high-paying jobs in fields such as "call centers" and "investment consultancy." Of course, some people knowingly go there.
Additionally, they create fake profiles on social networks, claiming that they were born in Korea and are currently in the UK for work. They say they make money through crypto investments, own businesses such as clothing stores or jewelry shops, and invest in crypto for extra income. They encourage you to enter the crypto market, claiming to earn substantial profits. To make their story more believable, they also send photos and videos. Moreover, they claim to be single and looking for a relationship. They act like a romantic partner, say sweet words, and try to gain your trust. Therefore, never share your crypto account information with anyone.
How Do They Recruit Turks and Foreigners to Work for Them?
According to cybersecurity experts, there are several methods:
Fake job ads on social media for customer service and investment consultancy roles.
Face-to-face job offers to foreign tourists and Turks visiting Cambodia.
Once they persuade individuals, they pick them up from Phnom Penh airport in VIP vehicles and place them in luxury hotels. Later, they take them to large complexes controlled by criminal organizations. Once inside, no one can leave.
Some scam farms are set up in villas, while others are in office buildings. They have casinos, entertainment venues, markets, and restaurants—everything necessary. Armed guards secure the entrances. Those who report the scam to the police face severe punishments and torture.
People are forced to work 15 hours a day like slaves. Some work in call centers, others run advertisements on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn, posting fake content targeting Turkish users. Some even create fake accounts using the names of Turkish bank executives or social media influencers. Their sole aim is to trick Turks into investing in crypto, stocks, and global companies.
To do this, they use over 800 phone numbers belonging to Turkish mobile operators and many fake phone numbers from Europe, especially the UK.
In the end, they transfer large sums of money to their crypto wallets.
